Why do I have a picture of my dinner? Well, for our Friday night date Mark took me to go see Jewel and before we left he cooked us up some dinner (which RARELY happens). And he even made it exactly how I like it - burnt! Not kidding, I love it this way. Thanks Mark for spoiling me!!!

The show was AMAZING really. She surprised both of us with her skills as an entertainer. It wasn't just singing, she told stories and had us all laughing. Her voice was
phenomenal. She sang old songs, new songs, even an opera song and the last song of the night was a yodel(demonstrating her rich Swiss heritage). The entire performance was just Jewel and her guitar and what a musician she is. She opened the evening with an Au Capella version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" which she sang in tribute to the start of her career when she played Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz on Broadway at 17. Mark walked in as the husband dragged to come with his wife and walked out a fan.

This was the first stop of the tour so having just flown into Phoenix before the show Jewel wasn't up to a meet and greet. We did however get a couple autographs before leaving thanks to one of her crew who took items to the tour bus to be signed.
