Caution...Looking Below May Cause Jelousy!!!

My friend Kelley and I right before heading out to Washington on our trip. This is a research trip for Kelley who is writing a book and I get to tag along!

After a night in Seattle we drove to Quinalt and enjoyed our first of many water falls. This one is called Bunch Creek.

Our next stop was to see the biggest spruce tree in America.

Next, we strolled through the Hall of Mosses

Okay Twilight fans. Here is Forks!
This town is very uneventful and really nothing like the movie. But we did get a picture of the sports store where Bella theoretically would have worked. And the high school.

We finally made it to Port Angeles and checked into our hotel which is right on oceanfront property! It is so great to lay down on the bed and look out the sliding doors, you cant see anything but water and it feels like I'm on a cruise boat floating on the water.

In the morning we hopped on the ferry and headed to Victoria, BC for the day.

We walked around downtown, visited the Maritime Museum and then had lunch while enjoying a fantastic view.

After getting back into Port Angeles we went and ate at Bella Itallia. This has been pegged by Stephenie Myer as the place Bella and Edward had their first date together in the book (Twilight). No, this isn't the same as the one used in the movie, neither is the dress shop or the book store also located on this street which are the inspiration Myer used.

This was taken this morning when we hiked up Hurricane Ridge (6 mile round trip) in search of a specific flower Kelley has in her book. It was a difficult hike but well worth it...it was beautiful! We even got up close and personal with wildlife.

Our first waterfall of the day, Madison.

This waterfall was an adventure getting to it. This is Wolf Creek Falls and the trip to and from was off the beaten path so we were the only ones there.
Yep, we had to take our shoes off and walk through water just to get there.

Our next stop was to the Cresent Lake Lodge where we rented a row boat for an hour.

On to our last one for the day, Merrymere Falls.

Today I stood on a mountaintop, at the base of waterfalls, and sat in the middle of a beautiful lake all within a 30 minute drive. Yep, definitely not in Arizona.
