Shipley Family Reunion

A tradition we almost never miss is going to the Shipley Family Reunion held every two years. This year we were in Salt Lake City, Utah and had a great time visiting and seeing some of the sites. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know family members better.
Being the 4th of July weekend, we got to play with fireworks.

Sunday morning was a real treat! We went to the Temple Square Conference Center and watched the live taping of the show Music and the Spoken Word. Being that the program was filled with special holiday numbers, this was a beautiful program.

Afterward, we headed to see a local site (all the times we have been to Salt Lake City and somehow we never made it here!)

Monday morning Mark set out to play a round of golf with his buddy Hans while I met up with his cousins to watch the Provo Fourth of July Parade...which was really good!

Back to the reunion for goodbyes. See you again in two years!

Back to the cousins (non-reunion cousins) for some more fireworks.

One more game of golf before hitting the road. I actually tagged along this time, my first time on a golf course. Now I have a clue what it's all about. Not sure I could do it more than once a week but it was fun. Mark is always hard on himself saying his game is real bad so I was surprised at how well he played (to my untrained eye anyway).
Thanks Hans! Lots of fun.
