Shipley Family Reunion 2012

Every two years Mark's father's family gets together for a reunion in various locations and this year we happened to be in Northern California.  It's our first vacation of the year and we were happy to get away from the Phoenix heat.  The first day Mark went golfing with his dad and two others while Collin and I went to the mall.

The next day we had a picnic and then visited the official site of the discovery of the gold that led to the CA gold rush.

The next night we drove down to Sacramento to visit with my friend
Lucinda and her family.  We have known each other for 27 years!
Collin had fun playing on the trampoline with Lucinda's kids.
One day at the hotel, Collin climbed on the suitcase and reached up for the apple sitting on the counter.  Then he plopped down in the pile of dirty clothes and started eating the apple.  This was so funny because the only way he had ever eaten an apple before was sliced.
The reunion was over so we drove down to Madera and spent two night with Mark's grandmother and his aunt Lori.  We always take the chance to see them when possible.
Aunt Lori took us to the Fresno Chaff zoo.

Aunt Lori spoiled Collin with lots of games on her phone.

On our way back to Sacramento we stopped for a visit with my uncle Al who wasn't feeling well but still let us stop to see him.  His rescue greyhound Molly didn't know what to think of Collin.

That night, the 4th of July, we were in Roseville with family
enjoying a BBQ, swimming and fireworks.  Collin was exhausted.

Our last day we visited the Old Town Sacramento area.  First we went through the Railroad Museum.  They had a fun play area for the kids.

Collin got this fun train whistle and blew on it off and on for hours as
we walked around the old shops, ate and ran in the grass.

Do I look like a cowboy?  I AM from ARIZONA!

He looks just like his Mom and Aunt Misty at that age. And he gets into everything just like they did. He is to cute for words.
